About LOAF
Every file has a long afternoon in it. We want to give yours back.
Loan Originators Against Friction. The name is a promise: the paper, the re-keying and the chasing are the enemy, and the people doing the work are not.
Where the friction lives
A purchase contract arrives and someone has to read all of it, find the dates and the dollar amounts, and spot what is missing. An underwriter sends conditions and someone has to turn them into a list for the borrower, the agent and the title company. A borrower wants cash out and someone has to work out which debts to pay at closing. None of this is hard. All of it takes time, and it lands on the same few people.
Independent brokers feel it most. Big lenders have teams and software built for them. A small shop has a loan officer, a processor, a phone and a long list. The tools that would help are priced and built for someone else.
What we are building
One small tool for each stubborn job, in one toolbox. Each tool does the reading and the arithmetic, shows the page every finding came from, and leaves the decision with you. It never says a loan is approved, and it never says a condition is cleared. That judgment is yours, and we want to protect your time for it.
How we treat your work
Borrowers trust you with their most private papers, and you trust us with the same. Documents are encrypted and deleted at the end of your business day. We keep only counts and IDs, never the document. We would rather build slowly and keep that promise than move fast and break it. Here is exactly what we do.
A community, not just a product
We would like LOAF to become a place where brokers who do right by their borrowers share what works: the checklists, the shortcuts, the questions worth asking. Our first companies are shaping the toolbox with us. Tell us what is slow, what is wrong, what is missing. Every report goes to a person, and the next version is built from what you say.
If you work for a small shop, carry a big pipeline and wish someone had made the tool you actually need, this is for you.
LOAF is a draft-review aid. It does not make credit decisions and does not replace your own review of a document.
